Get ready for Magic and Mayhem 2023

Are you coming to our annual circus-themed extravaganza for Rainbows and Brownies?

17 April 2023

Magic and Mayhem is our annual circus-themed extravaganza for Rainbows and Brownies.

It’s held at Blackland Farm in Sussex, Foxlease in the New Forest, Waddow Hall in Lancashire – and Glenbrook in the Peak District for day tickets only.

Magic and Mayhem is an unforgettable event where our two youngest sections can let loose, try new things and sleep in a big top under the stars! Whether it’s your girls’ first sleepover or you’ve been loads of times, there’s so much fun to be had – all in a safe and inclusive environment.

And best of all, leaders can relax and enjoy the weekend, knowing the whole unforgettable itinerary has been planned for you!

If you’re planning on heading to Magic and Mayhem, here are five simple steps to make sure you’re all set.

1. Check your tickets

For a whole weekend of non-stop fun, Magic and Mayhem is great value for money. From inflatables to tunnelling and so much in between, all your activities, food and accommodation are included in the price as well as transport to and from a local train station.

The deadline to submit your REN forms has now passed. So if you’re staying overnight at Magic and Mayhem this year, you should’ve already got your tickets by now. But if you missed the deadline, don’t worry – you don’t have to miss out on the fun! Day tickets are available at all our centres (except Glenbrook, which has now sold out) for £39 - or just £15 for leaders.

2. Check your paperwork

You don’t need a going away with licence to take your unit to Magic and Mayhem. But you will need to have filled out your residential event notification (REN) forms. You’ll also need to bring a copy of every member’s health form (for those staying overnight) and information and consent form (for all). That way, we can make sure we’ve covered all your unit’s specific needs, like access needs or dietary requirements.

3. Check your kit

Tickets and paperwork sorted? Time to get packing! Our Magic and Mayhem booking pack has a helpful list of all the kit you might need to consider bringing along to enjoy a comfortable stay. It’s a good idea to pack a mixture of warm and lightweight clothes in case of a change in weather.

4. Sort your travel plans

Now you’re all packed up and ready to go, you’ve just got to figure out how you’re getting there. We’ll be running regular shuttles from a local train station on the day and at the end of the weekend. And if you’re coming by car, just let us know so we can arrange a parking permit. Due to space limitations, we’re sorry that we can only guarantee one parking permit per unit.

5. Have an unforgettable time!

Most importantly, enjoy yourself! Organising travel and paperwork can seem like a daunting task for any leader. But we’re here to help with any questions you might have. And you can rest assured that on the weekend, the whole itinerary will be sorted for you. So you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the fun of the weekend along with the girls!
